Stampin’ Up’s Just Sayin’ Wood Mount Stamp set, this is new and unused. A retired favorite of mine. In addition I’m throwing in two of my favorite colors of Hero Arts Inks Tide Pool and Orange Soda.

For a little New Year’s fun I created a card using one of Stampin’ Up’s new sets, It’s a Celebration:

A crazy watercolor wash serves as the base to my bright white fireworks, while some subtly embossed fireworks pull the white background into the framework of the eye catching centerpiece.

just ripe.

A Stampin’ Up! set, Market Fresh, i139344Gs front and center on my card today. I must be yearning for a warm spring and some fresh fruit… just looking at this card makes me hungry for strawberries.
Watercoloring seemed to be the perfect fit for this set. Giving the strawberries that “almost” perfectly ripe look was easily done with my Zig Clean Color Markers. I used water color paper for maximum blend-a-bilitiy without overworking the paper.

Twine is making a comeback of sorts in my card making. I seem to be using it quite a bet, especially the black and white.StrawberriesCard (1 of 3) StrawberriesCard (3 of 3)Happy creating my friends,

gift & card. together at last.

I put my crafty Mcgyver skills to good use by combining the earrings (the gift) and the thank you card in one. I’m quite pleased with myself on this one.ThanksEarRingCard (6 of 6) This time I actually die cut out the word “thanks” then watercolored it, post cutting. I like this look a little better than trying to watercolor a guesstimate of placement then die cutting. Who knew?ThanksEarRingCard (5 of 6) I made the earrings from darling glass beads that I ran across at the craft store. All I know is that I’d be happy as a clam to get this little goodie as a thanks. In fact, I may just like it too much to give it away. 🙂ThanksEarRingCard (2 of 6)Happy creating my friends,

Some Birdie Loves You.

I’ve been waiting for this little cutie, Some Birdie Loves You stamp set from Clearly Besotted, to come back in stock at Simon Says Stamp. Believe me, as soon as I saw it, I grabbed it and checked-out. Isn’t it the cutest little bird ever? and there are several more in the set.

On a funnier note… I totally finished coloring this sweetie and I decided to add some blue to the eye. Big mistake. It made it look like a killer bird, super scary. So out came the googly-eye and I think it looks awesome. Sometimes mistakes make for the best cards, right?

BirdieLovesYouCard (2 of 3)

The little hearts were punched from white card stock scrap that I tossed a little coordinating watercolor onto. I layered them on the center of the “O” from Bold Statements by MFT and then pulled out that favorite of mine, Crackle Accents, applied and let dry.

Cards. I like ’em.

I did some light watercoloring with my new Zig Clean Color markers, then die cut out “thanks” and two hearts. Using some fun heart dies from Lil’ Inker I created a negative space for the greeting and smaller hearts. I then applied Crackle Accents to the two smaller hearts and let it dry for a few hours. It’s kinda like magic when it’s all done.

Green Balloons & Elephants

Elephants. Who would think I’d be so taken by such an animal?! When I saw this super sweet stamp set from WPlus9,  Unforgettable,  I had a moment of internal little girl squealing.

First the SU! Blendabilites came out to brighten this tiny stamped darling. Sad to say, but — SU! has discontinued them. Non the less I’m working on my alcohol marker skills in hopes of procuring a set of Copic markers in the near future. In the VERY near future. In the meantime I am having a stellar time experimenting with coloring again.

The die cut balloon is slipped into two slits cut on either side of his little trunk. Backed by polka dot embossed card stock the little guy pops. Did you notice the color choice I made? Olive green? yah I like to push the color envelope. I really think this combination works.
