just ripe.

A Stampin’ Up! set, Market Fresh, i139344Gs front and center on my card today. I must be yearning for a warm spring and some fresh fruit… just looking at this card makes me hungry for strawberries.
Watercoloring seemed to be the perfect fit for this set. Giving the strawberries that “almost” perfectly ripe look was easily done with my Zig Clean Color Markers. I used water color paper for maximum blend-a-bilitiy without overworking the paper.

Twine is making a comeback of sorts in my card making. I seem to be using it quite a bet, especially the black and white.StrawberriesCard (1 of 3) StrawberriesCard (3 of 3)Happy creating my friends,

you are lovely.

Today’s card started out as what I thought was a mistake, I hated the two yellows together. As I worked with it a bit more I became quite enamored, isn’t it funny how the creative brain works sometimes? I used Altenew’s Painted Flowers stamp set and a greeting from one of the newer sets that Michaels has put out from their color splash collection to create the image and greeting. YouAreLovelyCard (1 of 3)
The colors are from Stampin’ Up!, Daffodil Delight and Delightful Dijon. The greeting was created with Versamark ink and white embossing powder.  I picked up the sparkly circle stickers from the dollar store. YouAreLovelyCard (2 of 3)

sending lots of love.

This card was kind-of accidental. I basically lined-up the tiny envelope stamps in a row and created a pattern while experimenting with the images. Then I thought, why not stamp them in rows of different colors. So I grabbed a few of my favorite Stampin’ Up! inks: Bermuda Bay, Tangerine Tango, Melon Mambo & Rich Razzleberry.

I stamped an extra envelope and trimmed out the flap, adding it to the uppermost center envelope in order to create some visual interest.

The heart over the greeting made for a sentimental touch… a bit more personalized.

Happy creating my friends,

panda. take three.

Today our little friend, the panda, is balancing on a greeting from My Favorite Things called Bold Statements. The image was curved prior to stamping, because of the tacky nature of clear stamps, this is a easily done on the stamp block.

The ink is from an old stamp pad that I have had sitting around for about 7 years. I cracked open the cellophane and it was as juicy as could be. It’s a Kaleidacolor Pastel Pad.

I stamped the hearts in the “A’s” for a final touch.

Happy creating friends,

you are amazing.

Again with the triangles… well this is actually the first card that I made with this Altenew set, Sohcahtoa. I copied this from an example from one of their design team members. If I am ever stuck in a rut, I take a minute to just copy something another artist has made and then I am usually off and running with my own thoughts and ideas. It usually works out pretty well for me.

The sequins are placed and then a drop of Liquid Perler is placed in the centers to create a “new” embellishment.

Happy creating my friends!

make me sparkle.

272My Favorite Things has a new sketch to try your hand at every Wednesday. Today’s is number 272. I opted to use some new happy mail that I received from Stampin’ Up! today, I could hardly wait to get it out of the box and start creating! I used Iced Rhinestone EmbellishmentsSparkle and Shine Stamp Set and  Shine On Specialty Designer Series Paper. I am in love with kraft card stock to begin with, but to add metallic images to it, um, yeah!
